The Power of Words

My dad just celebrated his 81st birthday!  I called him on the day to wish him a very happy birthday. It was a day or two later I stopped by to pick something up from my mom and dad's and when he carried it out to my car for me, he gave me a big hug and told me how thankful he is to have me as a daughter.  My response was, "Well, I wouldn't trade you for anything"  I think that meant more to him than "I love you."  I could see it in his eyes.
I need to remind myself to say words of love and appreciation now instead of regretting later not saying them!
